Guides

How we make our guides

Who writes them, who checks them, where we use AI assistance, and how we correct mistakes.

Who writes them

Every guide carries the name of the person responsible for it, with their role at TrySwim. Today that is the founder. There is no editorial team byline and no pen name: if a guide is wrong, you know who to write to.

Teaching content - how a stroke is taught, what a lesson should contain, what a coach should never do - is reviewed by a certified coach on the TrySwim marketplace before it is published, and the review credit names them and the date of the review.

What goes into a guide

We write about what we can see from inside the marketplace: which pools in the Klang Valley host lessons, what lessons actually cost, what condo managements ask for, what parents ask coaches. Where a guide states a number, it is either from our own bookings or from a named public source that the guide links.

We do not publish guides about health or medical questions. Water-safety guides stick to what recognised bodies publish and say so.

Where we use AI assistance

We use AI tools to research a topic, to structure a first draft, and to generate the illustrations you see on some guides. A human author checks every claim, rewrites the draft in their own voice, and takes responsibility for the result. AI is never the author, never invents a number or a quote, and never generates a photograph of a person.

Illustrations produced with AI tools are captioned as illustrations. Photographs are photographs.

Corrections

When a guide is wrong we fix it and update the "Updated" date. When the fix changes the advice, the guide says what changed. We do not refresh dates cosmetically.
