What your coaching actually pays
The split is public and tiered: your share of each completed session is set by your commission tier — 20% as a Development coach, 40% as a Junior, 60% as a Senior coach. The pool always earns 20%; TrySwim keeps the rest. No hidden fees — and your tier can rise as you progress.

Examples use the current public price list — the same catalogue customers see — at the Senior (60%) tier; Development and Junior coaches earn 20% and 40% of the same packs. Each figure is one student buying the largest pack in that tier; you earn your share on every completed lesson checked in at the kiosk, and TrySwim cannot promise how many bookings you will get.
A no-show still pays you
The session credit is used either way — you still get paid when the student doesn’t turn up.

How It Works
From application to first booking
Apply online
Create your coach account and submit your application: your certification level, proof documents, and any other qualifications. It takes about 15 minutes.
Verification review
Our team checks your identity and certifications against the documents you upload. If something needs fixing, you can edit and resubmit — you are not rejected for a blurry scan.
Get approved & go live
Once approved, your verified profile is visible to customers and you set your teaching schedule. Your first booking can arrive the same week.

You set where and when you teach
Once you are approved, your schedule is yours to run. This is what setting it up looks like in the coach app.

Customers never see your address. We use it to work out which pools are near you.

Coaching questions, answered
What qualifications do I need?
A recognised swim-teaching or coaching qualification at one of three levels: Development (Bronze Medallion / Pingat Gangsa), Junior (MSTA, AUSTSWIM, ASCA), or Senior (ILS) — with proof documents for each certification you hold. Other qualifications like First Aid or CPR strengthen your application and appear on your public profile.
How much can I earn?
Your share depends on your commission tier — Development coaches earn 20%, Junior 40%, and Senior 60% of every completed lesson. Students buy lessons in packs, so one student is worth far more than one lesson: at the Senior tier a 16-lesson 1-on-1 pack pays you RM 990, a 16-lesson 3-to-1 pack pays RM 1,350, and a 12-lesson family pack pays RM 840. Your total grows with the slots you open and the bookings that fill them; TrySwim cannot promise how many bookings you will get, so most coaches start part-time and grow with demand.
How is my tier decided — and can it go up?
Our team assigns your tier during the verification review, based on your certifications, experience, and the quality checks we run. It can absolutely rise: as you add certifications and build a track record on the platform, ask for a tier review. Tier changes never apply backwards — lessons you already taught keep the rate they were booked at.
How and when do I get paid?
You earn your tier share on every completed lesson — sessions are checked in and out at the pool kiosk, so there is a verified record, and a no-show still pays you. Payouts go monthly to the bank account on your profile; balances under RM 50 roll over to the next month.
Do I need my own pool?
No. TrySwim partners directly with pools and handles venue access. You teach at approved partner pools near you.
Can I bring my existing students?
Yes — and you should. Your students book you on TrySwim like anyone else: payment is collected upfront, scheduling is handled, and the pool is sorted. You keep the relationship and lose the admin.
What happens if my application is not approved first time?
You will see exactly what needs attention and can edit and resubmit your application — most resubmissions are about document quality, not qualifications.
